The first part of the R $ 600 emergency aid has already been paid to 50 million Brazilians during the coronavirus crisis, according to the Ministry of Citizenship. The total invested by the federal government to grant the benefit was R $ 35.5 billion.
Nearly 97 million CPFs, including applicants and family members, have been reviewed since enrollment began on April 7. In total, according to Caixa Econômica Federal, 49.7 million registrations were made in the request for emergency aid, with 546.7 million visits to the site and 109.2 million calls to the 111 telephone center to answer questions.
Previously, Minister Onyx Lorenzoni had already said that 32.8 million people were not eligible, in the first instance, to receive emergency aid. In this group, he warned, there are those who really do not meet the criteria established by the government and those who need to correct some information to receive the benefit.
“We have, for example, unfinished CPFs, where the father registers a family, the mother registers the same family and we cannot close it, because we need to be clear about who is the head of the family to define the transfer values. At least 13 , 6 million people will need to enter this new version of the application and review the registry, “he explained.
After closing the data of those who registered until April 26, the ministry will receive details of the payments of the first installment from Caixa Econômica Federal to begin the transfer of the second installment. “Now we need to define who it was for, when it was, and for what account,” Onyx listed.
Emergency assistance includes members of Bolsa Família and people enrolled in other programs listed on CadÚnico, as well as individual microentrepreneurs (MEI), independent workers and individual INSS taxpayers who meet the criteria of the law.
Eligible beneficiaries of Bolsa Família receive R $ 600 on the same calendar and in the same way as the benefit granted by the federal program.
