“This measure is extremely important and comes at a time when economic dynamism requires quick and effective responses,” said Special Secretary for Finance Waldery Rodrigues Junior. He explained that the measure has no impact on the primary result, since it will use the resources of the PIS-Pasep Fund, in addition to the existing balance in the FGTS.

During the press conference at the Palacio de Planalto, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Marcelo Guaranys, recalled that the new possibilities of retirement of FGTS were announced on March 16, along with a series of other measures. “We are giving resources to those who need it when they need it most,” Guaranys said.
Withdrawals will be made in accordance with the service schedule and the criteria that Caixa Econômica Federal will disclose. The credit can be made in a bank account of any financial institution, indicated by the worker, as long as it is their property.

The Federal Government reallocated R $ 21.5 billion in PIS / Pasep resources, in amounts that were not withdrawn from inactive accounts until 1988. Therefore, it does not represent new spending on the primary deficit.
“This is a very effective measure and comes at a favorable time to combat the coronavirus, where quota holders will be entitled to the resources that belong to them,” emphasizes Waldery Rodrigues.
The Special Secretary for Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economy, Adolfo Sachsida, says that 60.8 million workers will directly benefit from this measure. “We expect up to R $ 36 billion to be withdrawn.”
Sachsida also emphasized that when he announced his set of economic measures, in terms of public health stress, the Brazilian government was undoubtedly the first and fastest country to announce economic measures.
