The Flamengo delegation was caught up in other bad news in Ecuador. Following the 5-0 loss to Independiente del Valle, the club received news that at least six players tested positive for COVID-19.

Rubro-negro has already received the counter test and there is still fear that other members of the delegation have contracted the disease. The medical department awaits the reports. Through their social networks, Fla confirmed the number and said that all are asymptomatic and isolated.

Players, directors and coaching staff have been in the country since last week and Rubro-negro will face Barcelona next Tuesday (22), at 7.15 pm, at the Monumental.

Faced with last-minute problems, the questioned coach Domènec Torrent will have difficulties to assemble the team. Before the game against Del Valle, Vitinho had already been banned for a viral condition.

To further complicate Rubro-negro’s last days, today’s training (20) was canceled due to the activity of the Sangay volcano. Before the activity, forward Gabigol had a thigh problem. Fla sailed for Ecuador with 25 players, but only has 17 available with the numbers now.
