The year 2021 will have nine official national holidays and another six optional dates, according to a list published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
Between holidays, three of them will be extended, that is, they fall on Monday or Friday and, therefore, are modified with the weekend. The bill already includes January 1, this Friday, the day of Universal Brotherhood.

Furthermore, the Passion of Christ (April 2), which precedes Easter, and the Proclamation of the Republic (November 15) will be, respectively, on Friday and Monday.
Labor Day, May 1, and Christmas, December 25, will fall on Saturday.
Tiradentes (April 21) will be a Wednesday, while the Independence of Brazil (September 7), Nossa Senhora Aparecida (October 12) and Finados (November 2) will fall on Tuesday.
Carnival Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (respectively February 15, 16 and 17) are considered optional points, as well as Corpus Christi Thursday, which will be June 3.
