2-year-old boy found alone in the street of Regio do Barreiro – Gerais

The meeting of a child only two years alone on a street in Regio do Barreiro, in Belo Horizonte, mobilizes the authorities from Thursday (8). The boy was taken in by a resident and taken by the Municipal Guard to a unit of the Council of Guardians. The parents have already been identified.

According to the Municipal Secretary of Security and Prevention of the capital, around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, a woman called the municipal guards and they saw the boy walking alone on Visconde de Ibituruna Avenue. He was wearing dirty clothes and was not crying. He took the boy to the place where he works, bathed him and fed him. The child could not say his own name and was without documents. When he saw the municipal guards patrolling the region, he asked for help and told what was happening.

During the night, around 11:30 p.m., the Military Police (PM) also registered a police report on the case. Information about the child’s location was already circulating. social networks and press vehicles.

A team that was on patrol ended up receiving a photo of the alleged dad the child, who would be responsible for the abandonment. The police got a family address and drove to the scene, in the same region.

A family member said the man uses drugs and drinks and that he knew of his and his mother’s neglect of the child. The woman would have three other children in the same situation.

The police officers then went to the address of the mother, who said that she had left the boy with his father two days earlier. They searched for bars and other places, but did not find the man. The mother and the other woman were taken to a police station where the incident was recorded.

Father has not yet been located

According to the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance, Food Security and Citizenship, the minor is in a reception unit of the Belo Horizonte City Council.

“The boy was in the care of his father. The mother was located and treated this morning (9) at the Council of Guardians of Barreiro, without personal documentation. He was instructed to return with personal documentation to assess the situation. The father was not found ”, informed the secretary.

“The referrals of the family to the municipality’s social assistance services have already begun, as well as to Justice,” he concludes.
