Tareq, the BCL leader from Sylhet MC College, had a large beard and thick hair. Although he had a slightly Sufi expression on his face, his head was full of ugliness. The bearded Tareq is the second defendant in the MC College dormitory on September 25, in which a couple was detained and their husbands were brutally beaten and her wife gang-raped in their private car. However, after the case was closed, when Pasha’s donation was annulled and he lost his entire coat from the party and pictures of his bearded face were published in the media, he cut off his hair and beard to avoid arrest and disguised himself. It was hidden inside the house.
However, the latter was not spared. He was detained by Dirai’s RAB in Sunamganj on Tuesday night (September 29).
When Saifur Rahman, the main defendant in the rape case, was brought to court, he claimed he was not involved in the incident and named his accomplice Tareq as the rapist.
After being arrested by the RAB on Tuesday (September 29) evening, Tareq was found to have no beard and no hair on his face. Tareq was arrested in Dirai in Sunamganj on Tuesday night after conducting raids at different locations for two days. RAB officials were surprised that he had no beard or hair on his face.
Tareq is the son of Rafiqul Islam of Umednagar in Sunamganj Sadar upazila.
The matter was confirmed by RAB-9’s ASP (Media) Obine. He said the RAB arrested Tarak on the basis of secret information. Tareq had a long beard and hair on his head, but he cut off his hair and beard to avoid arrest. However, Tareq was not saved even in disguise.
It is worth mentioning that all educational institutions in the country were declared closed due to the coronavirus but some cadres of the Chhatra League kept the dormitory of Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet open. On the afternoon of September 25 (Friday), a newly married couple traveling in a private car to the university campus was arrested and taken to the dormitory. The victim’s husband filed a case at the Shahparan Police Station on Friday night. 7 people have been named as defendants in the case. At the same time, 2/3 more unidentified people were charged. The defendants are 8M. Saifur Rahman, Shah Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Tareq Ahmed, Arjun Lankar, Rabiul Islam, and Mahfuzur Rahman. They are all involved in the politics of the Chhatra League. Among the defendants, Tareq and Rabiul are outsiders, the rest are MC College students. The police arrested the accused. Some of them are now in preventive detention.
