On Sunday, the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) DSEX rose 216.69 points or 4.1 percent from the previous day to 5,618.95 points.
This index is highest in the last 21 and a half months. Previously, the index was 5,631 points higher than on March 19, 2019.
Shares worth Tk 1,925.06 million were traded on the Dhaka market on Sunday, down from Tk 1,543.28 million on the previous business day.
This transaction is largest in the last six months. Previously, there were more transactions than this on June 26, 2020. The transaction for that day was 2,543 crore 25 lakhs.
Shares of 381 companies and mutual fund units were traded on the DSE. Of these, 253 have increased and 56 have decreased. And the price of 50 does not change.
Among the other two Dhaka indices, the DSES or Shariah index has risen 57.41 points to 1,299.52 points. The DS30 index rose 114.99 points to 2,089.5 points.
On the other hand, the main index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI has risen 72.28 points to 16,275 points, 4.31 percent more than the previous day.
Shares worth Tk 6.28 crore were traded on the CSE, up from Tk 61.12 crore the day before.
Shares and mutual funds of 263 companies listed on the CSE. Of these, 208 have increased, 42 have decreased and 33 have remained unchanged.
