No case has yet been recorded in the incident of recovering the body of a young woman in the cabin of a passenger boat in Chandpur. However, the naval police have detained three people for questioning in this incident. They are: Launch Staff Russell Khan (26), Sujan Mollah (22) and Masum Gazi (42). All three are Griezermann in the MV Aab Zamzam passenger launch.
Meanwhile, a day after the incident, the identity of the young woman did not match. Even the person whose partner ran away. In the event of a case, all three will be handed over to the Chandpur Sadar model police station, said Kabir Hossain Khan, OC of the naval police station.
On Friday afternoon, he added, the owner of the MV Ab-e-Zamzam launch is ready to sue. Meanwhile, Sadar Model Police OC said. Nasimuddin said that after filing the case, the police will take the next step to investigate the cause of the girl’s death.
Earlier Thursday night, police recovered the body of the 25-year-old girl from locked booth No. 235 on the second floor of MV Aab Zamzam in Chandpur Launch Terminal. The CID, PBI, Naval Police and District Police collected the bodies and several courts in the place. However, as there was no CCTV camera at the launch, police officers were unable to confirm the identity of the person who was staying in the cabin with the girl and then escaped.
MV Ab-e-Jamjam left Sadarghat for Chandpur at midnight last Wednesday. Before leaving the boat, the man who came with the young woman rented the cabin from the boat’s crew, Sujan Mollah, for 800 rupees. However, when the launch reached the Chandpur terminal, it was locked in the cabin and the man with the young woman screamed. The investigation of the girl’s body initially confirmed that the murder took place after the rape by hanging the girl’s salwar kameez around her neck.
According to the investigation, the CID and PBI have initiated a forensic examination through the use of information technology and the collection of the necessary evidence from the crime scene.
By the way, in 2016, the police recovered the body of another young woman from the cabin of the same boat. Although 4 years have passed since that incident, the shore has not yet been reached.
There are reports that young passengers from the capital, Sadarghat, to Chandpur are staying in the cabins of several passengers on motorboats that departed at night. When these boats arrived in Chandpur in the early hours of the night, they crossed different parts of the city and returned to their respective destinations.
Officials in charge of law enforcement in Chandpur and representatives of civil society said such adverse incidents could be avoided if the matter was closely monitored in Sadarghat, the capital. Otherwise, one incident after another will happen.
