The only defendant in the murder case after raping an ‘O’ level student of the Kalabagan Middle School English teacher mind in the capital has given a confessional statement in court.
His statement was recorded in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Mamunur Rashid on Friday afternoon.
The officer in charge (investigation) of the Kalabagan AFM Asaduzzaman police station, who is investigating the case, presented the accused in court today.
The details of what the defendant said in his statement to the court are unknown. After taking a statement, the court ordered that he be sent to jail.
Last night, the victim’s father filed a case at the Kalabagan Police Station. According to the case brief, the aggrieved students left their homes to work around 8:30 a.m. yesterday. An hour later, his father left home on business. The student called his mother around 12:15 pm and asked her to bring the coaching study papers. The only defendant in the case, an ‘O’ level student, called the student’s mother around 1:17 PM and informed her that the girl had gone home. He was taken to the Anwar Khan Modern Hospital emergency department after he suddenly fainted.
The victim’s mother arrived at the hospital around 1:52 p.m. after leaving the office. It was learned from hospital staff that the defendant called the girl at her home in Kalabagan Dolphin Alley yesterday and raped her. After fainting due to heavy bleeding, the defendant himself took him to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital to divert the matter. Upon receiving the news, a Kalabagan police team went to the hospital, prepared an investigation report, and sent the body to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
