Police arrested six people, including Harunur Rashid, a gym teacher at the orphanage, and Yusuf Mollah, a resident teacher, Nayan, Rana and Rakib.

The Lalbagh Police Station OC AKM Ashraf Ahmed Harun and the Yusuf Molla Orphanage authorities brought the case to court and sent him to 7-day pretrial detention. The police have requested to send the remaining 5 people to jail.

The Department of Social Services and then Abdullah Al Mamun, a retired deputy secretary, was appointed to run the orphanage.

Zahir Uddin, a member of the guardianship of the Sir Salimullah Muslim Orphanage, said that 18 students who had passed the age were released. Parents have been asked to come and take their children by November 28.
