A week later, detectives arrested another man, Mohammad Ali. Amanur’s two other brothers, the former mayor of Tangail municipality, Sahidur Rahman Khan, and business leader Zahidur Rahman Khan, were named in the confessional statement delivered to the court by Mohammad Ali. Then Zahidur and Saniat covered their bodies. On November 15 of that year, Amanur and Sahidur went into hiding. After 22 months on the run, Amanur surrendered to court and was sent to jail.
Subsequently, Amanur was released on bail after being in jail for about two years. After the investigation of February 3, 2016, the detective police filed a charge sheet against 14 people, including former deputy Amanur and his three brothers. The evidence of the case is currently being taken.
After Sahidur escaped, in 2015, detectives arrested a man with two Porabari pistols in Tangail Sadar Upazila. The man later said in his confession that Sahidur had kept the gun. In this case, the detective police filed a charge sheet against three people, including Sahidur.
