The research committee said that the eligibility for the appointment of professors at Rajshahi University is now the lowest among the four autonomous universities (Dhaka, Jahangirnagar, Chittagong and Rajshahi universities) under the 1983 ordinance through policy changes. The research committee said the sole purpose of lowering eligibility was to open the way for the recruitment of those who were not eligible to apply before 2016.
