In the letter, PK Haldar admitted to withdrawing money under different names. He said he wanted to return the money. For this, he gave the condition of returning to the country and conducting business without any type of harassment.
However, on Wednesday the High Court ordered PK Haldar to be arrested from the plane and sent to the appropriate court. The directive has been issued to the Inspector General of Police, the head of the immigration authority and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). PK Haldar was scheduled to return home on an Emirates Airlines flight (EK562) from Dubai at 8:10 am on October 25.
When asked, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin told Prothom Alo yesterday that ILFSL attorney Mahfuzur Rahman had reported that PK Haldar would not be coming to the country on the scheduled date (October 25). The ACC and the Attorney General’s Office have sent it separately. The law will run at its own pace. Whenever we come, everything will be according to the law.
ACC’s attorney said he received the mail yesterday. Khurshid Alam Khan. He told Prothom Alo, “International Leasing (ILFSL) lawyer Mahfuzur Rahman informed me that PK Haldar had sent an email to ILFSL saying he would not be coming. He sent me a copy of the email. He mentions that he has symptoms like corona and PK Haldar does not come due to the Covid-19 situation. That said, the arrival date and time will be announced later. I think this amounts to contempt of court. Furthermore, the mail has been delivered without any test report or medical certificate. The matter has been reported to the ACC and the mail has been sent. The matter will be brought to the attention of the court.
