Others are Ahsan Ullah, IIUC Board Member, Mahbub Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Kawsar Ahmed, Professor of English, Nizam Uddin, former Assistant Procurator, and Mohammad Shafiul Alam.
Ahsan Ullah, Mahbub Rahman and Kawsar Ahmed are also involved in Jamaat politics.
District and session judge PP AQM Sirajul Islam told bdnews24.com: “The defendant had taken a provisional bond from the higher court. The court has ordered the defendants to be sent to jail after the hearing if they surrender according to the instructions of the higher court. “
Chittagong District Court Additional PP Lokman Hossain Chowdhury said: “Although the High Court ordered the defendants to surrender before March 16, it took its time. There was no hearing due to the coronavirus infection.
“The hearing is scheduled for today. We oppose the application of the defendant’s bail.”
Lawyer Kamal Uddin presented the case at the Sitakunda Police Station on February 12 this year. He is also the leader of the Juba League.
It was alleged in the case that on the morning of January 29, at the instigation of the defendants, 60 Chhatra Shibir cadres went to the BCL office on the IIUC campus and destroyed the image of the Father of the Nation and the Prime Minister .
The case was filed under Section 124 (a) of the Penal Code.
