A Juba League activist named Subrata aka Samrat Das (26) was beaten to death by malefactors at the Durga Temple in Bogra. The incident took place around 1 a.m. on Sunday (October 25) at the Subgram Hat Durga Mandir in the suburbs.

The deceased was the son of Kalipada Das of Palgram. He was a member of the Subgram Union Juba League. Additional police have been deployed to the Sabgram Hat temple area since the incident.

Initially, the police thought that the emperor had been beaten to death due to an internal dispute over the sand business.

The emperor reportedly went to the temple around 1pm on Sunday. As soon as he came out after visiting the idol, the evildoers began beating him with sharp weapons in the temple premises. In self-defense, the emperor took refuge in a tin house on the temple grounds. The criminals dragged him out of the house, killed him with machetes.

According to local sources, there are multiple cases, including the murder on behalf of the murdered emperor. Opponents recently clashed with him over the arena business in the area. Three months ago, the people from his rival group organized a human chain in the subgram area against the emperor. From then on, the emperor left the area and lived in the city of Bogra.

The emperor’s older brother, Jewel Das, aka Hari Jewel, is a terrorist listed by the police. A few days ago, Jewel was released on bail from jail and beat a BCL leader on behalf of the emperor. Since then, there has been tension between the two sides in the Subgram area.

On Sunday night, the emperor secretly went home and was reunited with his parents. After eating at home, he goes to the temple to visit the idol. Meanwhile, the opposition people learned of the arrival of the emperor and took a position on different paths from Subgram Hat. As soon as the emperor left the temple, he was attacked in the temple premises and escaped on a motorcycle.

The officer in charge of the Bogra Sadar (OC) police station, Humayun Kabir, said the area was searched immediately after the incident. But those involved were not found. There are 5 cases including murder, robbery and weapons on behalf of the murdered emperor. Additional police have been deployed to the area after the incident.
