Irfan Chowdhury used to live on the third and fourth floors of the nine-story building. RAB officials said they found two unlicensed foreign pistols, an ammunition round, an air pistol, 36 walkie-talkies, a wife, and foreign liquor and beer.

Irfan and his bodyguard Mohammad Zahid were arrested at the home and sentenced to one year in prison for drinking alcohol and using walkie-talkies.

At the end of the operation, members of the RAB removed Irfan and Zahid from the house around 8:10 pm.

RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam said Irfan and Zahid were being taken to the RAB-3 office in Tikatuli. From there they will be sent to jail.

Sarwar Alam said that Irfan’s “torture center” was found in the Ashiq Tower in Chawkbazar at that time.

He told reporters that according to information provided by Irfan, the raid took place in a room on the roof of the 16-story building. There were hockey sticks, handcuffs, knives, thick ropes, towels, electric shock cables, and other yaba gear and equipment.

“Irfan used to bring different people here and torture them.”

Later I went to the building and saw that there was an elevator to the 14th floor of the Ashik Tower. Then the stairs broke and they went up two stories to a large room on one side of the roof. He has a badminton system in front of him.

At the time, RAB members were listing various weapons and torture equipment on the list.

Irfan, the second son of Dhaka-6 MP Haji Selim, came from abroad to study and joined his father’s business. He is one of the directors of the Medina Group of Haji Selim.

He won the citywide corporate election in February as an independent candidate by competing for the 30th district councilor position.

A naval officer was beaten after getting out of Haji Selim’s car in the Dhanmondi area on Sunday night.

Apart from Irfan Selim, Haji Selim’s protocol officer AB Siddique Dipu, Irfan Zahid’s bodyguard and driver Mizanur Rahman were named as defendants in the case brought to Dhanmondi police station on Monday.

The plaintiff in the case has accused the government official of beating, injuring and threatening to kill him illegally by illegally blocking the road. Wasif Ahmed Khan.

According to the statement in the case, Lieutenant Wasif was riding a motorcycle to Kalabagan with his wife around 8:15 pm on Sunday. In front of LabAid Hospital, a black Land Rover (Dhaka Metro-G-11-5736) with an MP sticker hit his motorcycle from behind.

As soon as Wasif and his wife got off the motorcycle, Zahid, Dipu and two or three other unidentified people got out of the car and began to ‘beat’ them with ‘obscene language’.

The lawsuit also alleges that Lieutenant Wasif and his wife were threatened to “kidnap and kill”.

Following the incident, an eyewitness recorded Lieutenant Wasif’s statement on his mobile phone, which has already been posted on Facebook. There, the naval officer was heard saying with a bloody face that he had been beaten even after introducing himself and that he had also ‘touched’ his wife.

Police arrested the driver Mizanur Rahman shortly after the case was recorded. Radhab circled Irfan’s house around 12 noon.
