Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner said that after receiving the complaint, the additional deputy commissioner (general) and the deputy director of the ministry of local government (DDLG) Rafiqul Islam has been appointed investigating officer.

According to the written complaint, during Upazila Parishad’s monthly coordination meeting on Thursday (November 12) around 12 noon, the president of Upazila Parishad, Farooq Imrul Kayes, demanded a portion of the VGD and the maternity allowance card. to the Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer. At that time, when the UN Muhammad Mansur Uddin spoke about preparing the list according to the rules, the president of upazila left the meeting place in a rage. Soon after, the president of upazila began to open the CCTV camera installed in the hallway adjacent to the UNO office with one of his personal persons. When the matter came to the attention of Upazila Nirbahi’s officer, he immediately went to take a photograph of the scene of the CCTV camera opening with his mobile camera and the president insulted him in vulgar language. At the time, the president kept saying to UNO: ‘If I talk too much, I will beat him up and send him to Narsingdi (UNO’s house). Is Upazila Parishad owned by her father? Will Upazila Parishad direct?

In this situation, if the Upazila livestock officer tried to immobilize the Upazila president, they also threatened to expel him from the Upazila Parishad. The letter further stated that when other officers protested, the president also insulted them.

Meanwhile, the officer in charge of the Aditmari (OC) police station, Saiful Islam, rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.

The written complaint further indicates that recently, President Farooq Imrul Kayes called Upazila Rural Development Officer Nurela Akhter into his office and verbally abused her. He kept calling staff and saying, ‘Leave the rudeness out. If someone defames on the street, no one will take responsibility.

Copies of the written request sent to the Deputy Commissioner of the Minister of Social Welfare, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, MP, and the Rangpur Division Commissioner have been provided. The complaint has the signatures of 16 officials, including the official from Upazila Nirbahi.

Aditmari Upazila Nirbahi’s officer, Muhammad Mansur Uddin, said: ‘Everything is fine with the president of Upazila. He is a very educated man. But his behavior is not good. Nobody can work like this. We were trying to adjust everything. But it wasn’t happening. The incident last Thursday (November 12) forced me to seek written redress from the Deputy Commissioner.

He further said: “We have been waiting for the deputy commissioner before seeking a written remedy. Perhaps he will come and resolve the matter.” But he did not return with a word. Later we write.

He further said: ‘Some people around the ears of the upazila president are heavy on his ears. In the words of some of these people, he seems to have treated our officers badly. He thinks we are all corrupt here. The doubt is always in his eyes.

After hearing accusations from 18 officials, including Aditmari Upazila Nirbahi officer, Upazila President Farooq Imrul Kayes said on his mobile phone: ‘I have not said anything bad to anyone. UNO has assembled all the officers and filed a written complaint against me with the Deputy Commissioner. The language in which the complaint was written is unfounded. I wanted a proper investigation. ‘

He said: ‘Local people complain that there is unlimited irregularity and corruption in the upazila offices. People are harassed. I have called on the heads of all departments in upazila to put an end to irregularities, corruption and harassment, and to ensure good governance, as indicated by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Some officials did not take my words in support of BNP-Jamaat. On the contrary, he has been conspiring against me. This accusation is your harvest.

He added: ‘I’ve never done anything wrong to anyone. I am referring to the rights of the common man as a representative of the people elected by a great vote of the people and as the son of a freedom fighter. My family is involved in Awami League politics, so some officials are angry and have joined UNO in this accusation.

He further said: “The way in which my father Samsul Islam Suruj, the then organizing secretary of the district Awami League, was assassinated in 2003 has yet to be brought to justice. Now there are various conspiracies against me.

In response to another question, he said: ‘What you told the livestock officer, you have presented otherwise. It cannot be done by a responsible person. Furthermore, you (the media) are also investigating what the Upazila Nirbahi officer is doing to see if there is anything else inside. ‘

Lamnirhat Deputy Commissioner. Abu Jafar said: “I have appointed the Deputy Director (DDLG) and the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of the Ministry of Local Government Rafiqul Islam as investigating officer.
