The district detective police arrested two people in connection with the murder of Alamin Islam Nayan, an NGO worker and businessman at the Benapole port in Jessore. Police from the District Detective Division (DB) SI Shamim Hossain confirmed the arrest at 12 noon on Thursday (December 31). It is known that the murder took place due to extramarital affairs. The detainees are neighbor easy bike mechanic Zahurul Islam and his wife Kamrunnahar Katila.

According to the police, with the help of modern technology, it has been possible to identify the killers in just two days. Alamin was murdered due to extramarital affairs. He had an extramarital affair with Kamrunna Katila, the wife of neighbor Zahirul. Zahirul found out about the matter. He later killed her with the help of his wife. Zahirul and his wife participated in the murder.

Jessore Police Detective SI Shamim Hossain said the detainees confessed to the murder and described how they committed it. They were later shown detained. Details will be released at the press conference.

It is worth mentioning that last Sunday night, Katila Begum called Alamin from her home saying that she was speaking. Later we started talking in a nearby garden. At that moment, Katila’s husband, Zahirul, strangled her from behind, killed her and left her behind. The following day, Monday morning, the Benapole Port Police recovered the body. Detective police are investigating the incident together with the police.
