The state of Georgia in the United States will have a new count. In Georgia, a key state, the head of state accepted a request for a recount due to the narrow gap between the votes between the two presidential candidates.
This is not the case in all parts of the United States. The law does not apply if the gap is greater than 5 percent.
Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensparger confirmed the count Friday, saying “there is a small gap in the number of votes that can be counted in Georgia.”
At the time of writing, Joe Biden is ahead of Donald Trump by 1,589 votes. The two are equal as a percentage.
Under Georgia law, a second vote count is not required. It is up to the discretion of the Commission after the request.
County testimonies must request a vote recount within two business days. The entire ballot must be calculated. There is no possibility of bias.
There are 16 electoral votes in this state. Biden will become president if he wins.
At the latest count, Trump won 214 electoral college votes, compared to 274 for Biden. If you win in Georgia, you will easily exceed the ‘magic number’ of 260. In that case, you no longer have to wait for results in Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina and Alaska.
