The explosion took place at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque on September 4 at 9:15 pm. Forty people were burned, including imams, muezzins, district administration officials, students, journalists and children. They were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Among burn victims, 34 died during treatment.
