Later, when the Land Ministry filed a request with the court, it rejected the suspension order on October 1 and ordered the immediate eviction of the illegal structures.
Abu Jafar said the district administration and the Cox’s Bazar Development Authority had cleared the illegal structures in the first phase last Thursday afternoon following an order from a higher court. Sadar Circle Additional Police Superintendent Pankaj Barua said police arrested eight people involved in obstructing the eviction campaign and clashes. Furthermore, cases are being prepared to hinder the government’s work and attack.
