The University Council, an organization of vice-chancellors, has agreed to admit students at the undergraduate level via online admissions test at public universities. However, the decision on how to take the admissions test will be made after the results of the HSC and equivalent tests are published.

The decision was made at a virtual meeting of the Vice Chancellor’s Council on Saturday night.

It is known that, taking into account the current situation, the majority of university rectors have chosen to take the exam online instead of doing it in person. In this case, they have started working on how to take the online admission test. However, most of the rectors have given their opinion on the integrated admission test.

Vice Chancellor of the Council and Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Prof. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, we have discussed in detail about the admission test. After the publication of the HSC and the equivalent results in December, the vice-chancellors will sit down and set the procedure and time for the admission test.

It is known that the meeting also proposed to use the ‘Protected Remote Examination’ software invented by the Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Digital University, Professor Munaj Noor, to take the online admission test. The effectiveness of this software is presented to the vice chancellors. Initially, the remaining exams for fourth-year honors students from different colleges are also discussed through this software. It will be used in the admission test only if you are successful there.

Jagannath University Vice Chancellor Mizanur Rahman said the meeting decided to admit students through an admissions test. Most of the rectors have spoken in favor of taking the online admission test taking into account the current situation. In this case, the software invented by the Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Digital University can be used. However, it depends on the success of the exams of the rest of the students in different universities. Discussions about the use of this software will intensify if those tests are completed well.
