The Madaripur Deputy Commissioner said the dredge machine caught fire and was damaged by vandalism. The plaintiffs went to the Waqf Estate land at around 1am on Friday 26 August and set six dredgers on fire and destroyed 12 other machines, causing a loss of approximately 72 lakh Tk.
Judge Mohammad Hossain of the Judicial Court of First Instance accepted the case and, after hearing the case, ordered the police to investigate and submit a report to the Investigations Office (PBI).
