Buses and minibuses to go on strike – Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association

The Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association has said that buses and minibuses will circulate around Dhaka city and suburban routes even during the strike called by Hefazat-e-Islam on Sunday.

A press release from the association said the decision was made at an emergency meeting held at the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association office regarding the movement of buses and minibuses during the strike at 12 noon. today.

The meeting was chaired by Khandaker Enayet Ullah, Secretary General of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association.

Also present were the leaders of the Fulbaria Bus Terminal Owners Association, the Saidabad Antzela and Nagar Bus Terminal Owners Association and the Mohakhali Bus Terminal Road Transport Owners Association.

The leaders of the HOA said we are transportation entrepreneurs. If there is a strike, we will lose business. Attempts to create misery by calling strikes in this way are in no way justified.

In addition, the meeting decided that the vehicles would also circulate on the Antzela route, subject to passenger availability.

The association asked law enforcement agencies to reinforce security measures so that they do not face any type of obstacle when driving.
