One party has been trying to assassinate Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a prominent Iranian nuclear scientist, for the past 20 years. Ali Shamkhani said: “Unfortunately, there was some relaxation in Fakhrizadeh’s security and the enemy made the most of that opportunity.” However, he said there are more scientists like Fakhrizadeh in Iran. If a Fakhrizadeh dies, hundreds of Fakhrizadehs will be born in the country.
Iran’s top security official says Iran’s enemies will not be able to snatch the knowledge and technology taught by Fakhrizadeh from the country’s young scientists.
Prominent nuclear scientist and chairman of the Defense Ministry’s Research and Innovation Agency, Mohsin Fakhrizadeh, was killed in a terrorist attack on Friday night. He was shot dead by a remote control weapon from another vehicle near him, east of the capital, Tehran.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other leaders have vowed to avenge the killings. He was traveling with his wife in an armored vehicle on Friday. At that time, three vehicles of the security forces were compromised for their safety. He went out to see when a bullet hit his car. This was followed by a shot from a remote control weapon.
He was reportedly shot 150 meters from Fakhrizadeh’s car. They shot him at least 3 times. Fakhrizadeh’s bodyguard was also shot at that time. They were attacked for about 3 minutes.
Khamenei tweeted after the incident that Iranian officials would “unravel the mystery of the killings and punish the perpetrators.”
Earlier, President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that Iran would respond to the attack in a timely manner. He blamed Israel for the attack.
Rouhani added that the people of the country are well aware of the trap set by the Zionists. Israel has plans to create chaos and instability in the Middle East, but they must know that we already know their plans and that they will not achieve their evil goals.
