Anushka Noor Amin (18), an ‘O’ level student of the Mastermind English Middle School, has been buried in Kalabagan in the capital.
He was buried after Janaza at 8 a.m. Saturday at Gopalpureshanibar in Kushtia Sadar, his home in the village.
Earlier on Friday, an ambulance carrying Anushka’s body arrived at her village home around 1 a.m. and a heartbreaking scene took place.
Meanwhile, after the burial, the villagers staged a human chain and protested demanding justice for those involved in the rape and murder.
Demanding severe punishment for Fardin Iftekhar Dihan, the main defendant in the meritorious student’s murder, speakers from the human network said that if anyone else was involved in the incident, they should also be subject to the law after the investigation.
According to sources in the case, Anushka Nur Amin’s mother left home to go to work around 8:30 am on Thursday. An hour later, his father left home on business.
At around 12:15 pm, the student called her mother and asked her to bring her coaching study papers. The only defendant in the case, Dihan, an ‘O’ level student, called the student’s mother at 1:18 PM and informed her that the girl had gone home. He was taken to the Anwar Khan Modern Hospital emergency department after he suddenly fainted.
The victim’s mother arrived at the hospital around 1:52 p.m. after leaving the office. It was learned from hospital staff that the defendant called his daughter home in Kalabagan Dolphin Alley and raped her. After fainting due to heavy bleeding, the defendant himself took him to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital to divert the matter.
Upon receiving the news, a Kalabagan police team went to the hospital, prepared an investigation report, and sent the body to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Kalabagan police arrested Dihan at the hospital on Thursday. He pleaded guilty in the case on Friday and testified in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Court.
The girl’s autopsy was completed at the Dhaka Medical College morgue on Friday afternoon. Autopsy doctor Sohail Mahmud, head of the forensic medicine department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said there were no signs of injuries anywhere on the schoolgirl’s body, but there were signs of genital and anal injuries. He died of excessive bleeding due to perverted sex.
