The Investigations Office (PBI) detained a man on suspicion of rescuing the body of a young woman from the cabin of the Parabat-11 motorboat in Barisal. Her name is Moniruzzaman. He was arrested at Mirpur in the capital.

PBI claimed that he had confessed to the murder during preliminary questioning. Moniruzzaman introduced himself as the young woman’s ‘husband’.
The police superintendent said in a brief press conference that the defendant was arrested using modern technology after viewing CCTV footage of the launch.
Moniruzzaman was arrested Tuesday on Abul Qasim Road in Dhaka’s Mirpur, PBI said. During preliminary questioning, he confessed to the murder.
Last Monday, the body of a young woman was recovered from cabin number 391 of the Parabat-11 boat by the forces of order. The police may know the woman’s name as Jannatul Ferdous Laboni and the address as Pallabi from Mirpur. After contacting her family, they arrived and identified the body. Moniruzzaman was later arrested by PBI with the help of his family and technology.
