A businessman named Faridul Islam (45) was killed in front of his home in Sherpur Upazila in Bogra on Tuesday night. His home is in the Italian town of Bhabanipur, a union of the Upazila.
Police recovered Faridul’s body around 9:30 last night. The body was sent to the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra for autopsy on Wednesday morning.
Faridul’s neighbors said his wife and children had gone to visit relatives. I was alone at home. He has a cement rod shop at Chhonka Bazar in upazila. From home, he used to go to Chhonka Bazaar regularly and do business.
Sherpur Police Inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam Azad said that criminals shot and killed businessman Faridul Islam with a sharp weapon in front of his home sometime last night. Faridul has multiple stab wounds to the back of his head and in both hands. His body was sent to the hospital today for an autopsy. There will be a case in this case.
Sherpur (OC) police officer in charge, Shahidul Islam, said that the police had launched an investigation to find out the motive for the killings.
