All price indices on the main Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) were higher on Wednesday (Feb 3) after falling for three consecutive trading days. However, the shares and stakes of most of the companies involved in the transaction have fallen. In another stock market, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the price index has also declined along with falling prices for most companies.
Since the beginning of the transaction on this day, most of the companies have started to withdraw their offers. This trend continues until the end of the transaction. As a result, at the end of the trading day, 6 companies obtained a place on the DSE price increase list. On the other hand, the price of 160 has dropped. And the price of 108 remains unchanged.
Despite the decline in shares and units of most companies, the DSE’s main price index rose 18 points to 5,561 points. Among the other two indices, DSE-30 rose 28 points to 2,138 points. The DSE Shariah index rose 4 points to 1,250.
Along with the rise in the price index, the volume of transactions in the DSE has also increased slightly. The market turnover was Tk 694.61 million rupees. That was 602 crore 93 lakh rupees the day before. As a result, the transaction has increased to Tk 91.06 crore.
Beximco shares have been the most traded on the DSE in terms of money. 92.39 million shares of the company have been traded. Robi, who is in second place, had a turnover of Tk 72.47 crore. British American Tobacco ranks third with a turnover of 567 million Tk.
Additionally, Mir Akhtar, Beximco Pharma, Lankabangla Finance, Lafarge Holcim, Energypack Power, Summit Power and Square Pharmaceuticals are among the top ten companies listed on the DSE.
On the other hand, the general price index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange, CASPI, has decreased 31 points. The market turnover was 43 crore 71 lakh rupees. Of the 225 companies that participated in the transaction, 50 rose. On the other hand, 125 prices have dropped and 50 prices have remained unchanged.
