The Organized Crime Unit of the Police Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) arrested another member of the fraud ring with the announcement of Patra Chai. This married woman was advertised in the newspapers as a girlfriend.

The CID official said one of the gang members, Tamanna, was arrested in a raid in Rampura on Monday night. Previously, Sadia Jannat alias Jannatul (30), Sirajul Islam Siraj (40) and Firoz Mia (40) were arrested. Another member of the gang, Tamanna, has been arrested based on information provided during questioning.
Jisanul Haque said that the ring was generally used to mislead various people by placing advertisements in newspapers for an elderly man who was interested in taking over a business for a Canadian citizen, a beautiful widow, and a childless prayer bride. The arrested men from the gang used to introduce Sadia and Tamanna as girlfriends. After gaining faith through regular conversations and meetings with the bride, he took money on behalf of immigration, marriage certificate, visa process, etc. to take her to Canada.
The CID Organized Crime Unit has so far arrested four members of the network, including Jannatul Ferdous, the ringleader, on the basis of complaints from many victims of the scam. Several other members of the ring are still at large. The CID is carrying out an operation to stop them.
