They testified in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury on Tuesday.
After taking the evidence, the judge set December 15 as the next date to do so, Assistant District Attorney Azad Rahman said.
Sirajul and Hajera stated that on June 12 they delivered samples for the Covid-19 test in Sabrina and her husband’s institution JKG. The next day, his results were positive. Subsequently, he was examined twice at the Kumirtola General Hospital and the result was negative.
On July 18, his driver, housekeeper, house keeper all gave samples to JKG. The result is positive. But his samples came back negative at the Kumirtola General Hospital.
After the statement, lawyer Farooq Ahmed questioned them. Of the 40 witnesses in the case, 11 testified.
The other defendants in the case are Dr. Sabrina’s husband, JKG CEO Ariful Haque Chowdhury, his partners Saeed Chowdhury, fraud leader Humayun Kabir and his wife Tanzina Patwari, CEO Shafiqul Islam, the business license owners of the company Jebunnesa Rima, Biplob Das and Mamunur Rashid. All eight were brought to court from jail while taking evidence.
On August 20, the same judge brought charges against six defendants, including Sabrina. Earlier on August 5, DB Police Inspector Liakat Ali filed a charge sheet in the case at the Dhaka CMM court.
According to sources in the case, JKG Healthcare collected samples for corona identification in different parts of the country, including Dhaka, and reported them to 28,000 people without testing. Most of it is considered false. The company was sealed on June 23 after conducting a raid on the prosecution. A case was subsequently filed against them at the Tejgaon Police Station.
