The Cybercrime Investigation Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a young man named Harun Aur Rashid alias Simant for posting pornographic photos and videos on Facebook.
The Assistant Commissioner of the Cyber Terrorism Investigation Team (AC), Saeed Nasirullah, told the media that he was arrested in the Mirpur West Shewrapara area of the capital on Sunday (November 29).
During this time, they recovered pornographic images, pornographic videos, electrical devices, and various fake IDs from Facebook.
AC Saeed Nasirullah said the victim met her classmate Simant while studying at a private university in Uttara. At one point a love story developed between them. On July 30, 2012, the victim took the girl to her home in Simant Mohammadpur. There he takes obscene photographs against the opinion of the victim and takes signatures on her marriage papers. Later, Kazi went to the office and prepared the marriage papers. The victim kept the matter a secret for fear of tarnishing her own image and dropping out of school.
Subsequently, on September 26, 2012, the young woman divorced the border taking the oath to Chittagong. Border then began sending various obscene images of the victim to the mobile phones of various relatives of the victim. Through blackmail, he began to demand money from the victim at different times and to spread obscene images of the victim by opening his Facebook ID.
The girl filed a case under the Digital Security Law at the Jatrabari Police Station on September 15. After investigating the case, DMP’s Cybercrime Investigation Department identified the defendant with the help of information technology and arrested him.
