On the charge sheet, the investigating officer mentioned that on January 4, the student took a short bus from Dhaka University to his girlfriend’s home in Sheora. At 6 pm that day, the student did not get off at the Sheora bus stop but got off at the Kurmitola bus stop. At that moment the student realizes that he has gone down by mistake. Misunderstanding, he continued walking down the sidewalk.
According to the charge sheet, Majnu is a tramp. He does not have a permanent home in the city of Dhaka. On the day of the incident, Majnu went to the Kurmitola General Hospital at 5 pm. As the night wore on with the medicine, Kurmitola sat on a brick bench on the sidewalk just east of the bus stop. The student was walking down the sidewalk at 7pm. Majnu suddenly threw it into the bushes next to him from behind. When the student started screaming, Majnu grabbed her by the neck and hit her on the face, chest and abdomen.
According to the charge sheet, the defendant Majnu grabbed the student by the neck and she passed out. At one point he lost consciousness. Then Majnu raped him. After the rape, Majnu took a pair of pants out of the student’s bag and put them on. When the student regained consciousness, she saw that the pants she was wearing no longer existed. When the student tried to leave, Majnu grabbed her by the neck to snatch her money, mobile phone and purse and beat her. At one point, Majnu snatched two lakhs, a mobile phone and a purse from the student. The student then ran across the street, got on a rickshaw and went to his girlfriend’s house. After informing his girlfriend, the student was admitted to the One Stop Crisis Center at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
According to the charge sheet, the police questioned the raped student. The statement was registered in court pursuant to section 22 of the Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children Act. The evidence found at the scene, the pants worn by the student, samples from the student and the accused were collected and sent to the Chief DNA Analyst of the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for DNA testing. The review shows that the DNA of Majnu and the student is present. So it is initially proven that the defendant Majnu raped the student.
