On Thursday morning (November 19), the house loose next to Anu Sardar’s house in the Charchartala area of the upazila. The police recovered the body of Abu Chan Mia from her home. The deceased was identified as Kohinoor, daughter of Abul Hossain Miah from the same area.
The victim’s husband, Jewel, has been on the run since the incident. Police arrested five members of Jewel’s family for questioning in the incident. Those arrested are Jewel’s father, Abu Chan Mia (6), mother Rahima Begum (55), older brother’s wife Tania Begum (29), younger brother Kamrul Islam (28) and Kamrul’s wife, Argina Begum (24).
According to police and local sources, Kohinoor and Jewel were married in a romantic relationship about six months ago. This is your second marriage. Two months ago, Jewel asked Kohinoor for 200,000 rupees to reinvest in the business. However, Kohinoor was unable to pay. Late Wednesday night, Jewel beat Kohinoor to death with a batik, covered his body with a blanket and fled. At night, relatives found the body and reported it to the police.
Kohinoor’s father said. Abul Hossain said Kohinoor also met with him on Wednesday night. However, it did not report any issues at the time. He wants justice for his daughter’s killer.
Ashuganj Police Station SI Sribas Chandra Biswas said the body was sent to the Sadar District Hospital morgue for autopsy. A blood-stained pot was recovered from one side of the body.
