The body of a businessman named Jhunu Mia (33) has been recovered from the back of his house in the Maijbari village of Sunamganj Sadar upazila. The body was recovered Thursday morning.
According to family and law enforcement sources, Jhunu Mia runs a furniture business in the Kazir Point area of Sunamganj Township. He was in the store until 10pm yesterday. When his nephew fell ill around 10 p.m., relatives took him to Sadar Hospital. Later, Jhunu Mia also went there. When his condition deteriorated, he sent his nephew to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital and went home around 12pm. Another person called home from his phone at one thirty at night. He also cut off that call. After that, the relatives didn’t even look for him. His body was found covered with a sack next to his house this morning. Jhunu Mia has bruises on her head and neck.
Jhunu Mia’s mother, Anwara Begum, claimed that her son had been premeditatedly killed.
The Sunamganj Police Superintendent visited the scene in the morning after receiving the news. Mizanur Rahman. He said that it was not yet known who killed Jhunu Mia. The body has been sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Those involved in the incident will be subject to the law after the investigation.
