The implementation of the short 39-day program prepared for fifth-grade students in government elementary schools was to start from next Sunday (November 1). But this curriculum is not being implemented due to the announcement of the closure of all educational institutions in the country until November 14. However, a short 30-day study program is in preparation. If it is possible to open a government elementary school as of November 15, a 30-day curriculum will be implemented to achieve the basic proficiency of students.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education says that the National Academy of Primary Education (NEP) is preparing a new short 30-day program. If the government primary school opens from November 15, it will be possible to implement a short 30-day program. And if that is not done, fifth graders will be required to submit their own school pass certificate. All in all, students get automatic passes in all elementary classes.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Akram-al-Hussein said: ‘Last Thursday (October 29) the holiday was announced until November 14. Due to the holidays, NEP was asked to prepare a new 30-day curriculum for students to acquire basic skills. If school opens on November 15, a short 30-day program will be implemented. If it’s not open, it won’t be.

All educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 16 due to the Corona epidemic. The completion of primary education and equivalent public examinations were canceled due to the failure to open educational institutions for the prevention of coronavirus infection and the safety of students. Similarly, the JSC-JDC and HSC eighth class public exams were canceled.

After the closure of the fifth grade public examination, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education took the initiative to prepare a short study program starting in October and a short study program starting in November to achieve the basic competence of the students of fifth grade. Then, if it is possible to open an educational institution, implement a short program. The purpose was to allow the students to take lessons in the next class.

Additionally, through the implementation of this curriculum, fifth grade students were required to be assessed annually. But due to the Corona epidemic, only two short shows were canceled. However, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education did not want to give up. Again a short 30-day study program is in preparation. If this also cannot be implemented, fifth graders will receive an automatic pass. If the newly created short 30-day program is not implemented, charter educational institutions will issue fifth grade certificates in their own way.

According to the ministry’s survey, the school was closed for 61 business days from March 16 to October 31. Because of that, 406 normal fifth class lessons were not possible. As of March 18, 30 to 35 percent of lessons have been completed for students. Taking this situation into account, the final exam for primary education and ibtedayi has been canceled. In addition, students will move on to the next class based on the assessment from the first to the fifth class. However, how the whole matter will be carried out depends on the situation of the educational institution and Corona.

Meanwhile, the short lesson plan said that the educational activities of approximately one and a half million students at the primary level have been disrupted due to the closure of educational institutions since March 16. Educational institutions have completed 25 to 30 percent of learning before the holidays. Short lessons are planned to nurture the students.
