Expat’s wife raped at gunpoint, Juba League leader arrested

Chatkhil upazila from Noakhali has been charged with raping the wife of an expatriate at gunpoint. Police arrested Juba League leader Mojibur Rahman Sharif on Wednesday afternoon on the charge.

Sharif is the son of Rafiq Ullah from the village of Noakhala. He is an identified Santasi, drug dealer and thief in the area. It has a group of terrorists and cadres. Sharif is the leader of the Noakhala Union (West) Juba League.

According to the details of the case, the terrorist Sharif broke the door of the expatriate’s house around 5 am and entered the house. He then raped her in front of two children at gunpoint. When she told someone about the rape, he threatened to kill her and her children.

The locals said that Sharif was the head of a cadre force. He always established a reign of terror in the area with weapons. People don’t dare to protest their misdeeds out of fear. Locals also said that Sharif was involved in the drug business.

The expat’s wife appeared at the police station and filed a lawsuit against Sharif. The police raided him and arrested him at noon at the local Yasin Hajir bazaar.

Chatkhil OC Police Station (Investigation) Dulal Mia said there were six cases against Sharif at Chatkhil Police Station, including rape, extortion, bidding bazaar, weapons, and kidnapping. Police sent the woman to Noakhali Sadar Hospital for a medical examination.
