Bandarbazar police station in Sylhet. The three-member investigation committee was formed by an order signed by the Additional DIG (D & PS-1) Rezaul Haque of the police headquarters.

It is worth mentioning that Raihan died at 8:50 am on October 11 after being transferred to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital after being tortured at the Bandarbazar police station. Raihan is the son of the late Rafiqul Islam of Neharipara in Akhalia, Sylhet. He worked in a doctor’s office at the city’s Rikabibazar Stadium Market.

On the night of October 12, Raihan’s wife, Tahmina Akhter Tani, filed a lawsuit against the SMP Kotwali Police Station under the Death in Police Custody Act charging unidentified persons.

The case was transferred to the PBI following instructions from the police headquarters. After receiving the investigation, the PBI team inspected the Bandarbazar police post, the city’s foundry house and the home of the deceased. After all, the body was taken from the grave and an autopsy was performed again.

The forensic report showed 111 wound marks on the body of the late Raihan. Of these injuries, 96 were inflamed injuries and 14 were signs of serious injuries. These injuries were caused by sticks. Raihan died of hypovolemic shock and neurogenic shock due to numerous injuries and loss of vital organs, including the brain, heart, lungs and kidneys.

The police have detained Tithan Chandra Das, a police officer from the Bandarbazar Police Outpost, in custody for five days after being arrested in connection with the murder of Raihan Ahmed. This is the first time that someone has been arrested and placed on remand in this sensational case as a result of Titu’s arrest. Titu was working at the Bandarbazar outpost. Four policemen, including Raihan, were suspended after his death.
