Why journalist Kajal will not get bail is the High Court question

The High Court has issued a rule asking why photographer Shafiqul Islam Kajal is not being released on bail.

Photojournalist Kajal is in jail in connection with the Digital Security Law case brought by MP Saifuzzaman Shikhar.

The court asked the state to respond to the rule within the next two weeks.

Jyotirmoy Barua said MP Magura-1 brought a case against 32 people, including Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Manabjamin’s chief secretary, at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in Dhaka on March 9 after a report on Shamima Nur Papia’s Westin hotel business. Saifuzzaman Peak.

Shafiqul Islam Kajal, who was on the defendant list after the case, was missing for about two months. Later, on May 2, the BGB arrested him at the Benapole border in Jessore.

After being taken to Dhaka from Jessore, Kajal was arrested in the case at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on June 23 and confronted by a judge via video conference. The magistrates court rejected Kajal’s request for bail that day.

After Kajal’s application for bail was rejected by the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court of Justice on August 24, Kajal was submitted to the High Court on September 8. After hearing that request, the court issued a rule.

In addition to issuing the rule, the Superior Court has asked the investigator of the case to appear in court on November 12 with the case file.
