Shahinur Rahman, 40, owner of a fish farm in the Khalsi village of Helatla union in Kalaroa, his wife Sabina Khatun, 30, his son Siam Hossain Mahi, 10, and his daughter Tasnim, 7, were beaten to death in the early hours of Thursday. However, the killers did nothing to the 6-month-old Maria.

Helatla Union Parishad president Moazzem Hossain said that Shahinur Rahman used to trade fish. He was a good man. I have not heard of any fights with anyone in the area. The murders have cast a mourning shadow over the area.
