According to the Dhaka Board of Education, the exam fee has been raised from around 14 lakh from the country’s students to an average of Tk 2,500 to Tk 3,000 this year. Many colleges have also raised large sums of money outside of board guidelines. As such, the candidates have deposited three and a half to four hundred and twenty crore rupees with the board; But since the test was not carried out, the parents are now demanding a refund.
According to the Board of Education, in November last year, science department students had to pay Tk 2,500, including the center fee, and humanities and business students had to pay Tk 1,940 to complete the HSC form. Of these, the center fee (including practical fee) is Rs 605 for science and Rs 445 for humanities and commerce.
Although the center is asked to discharge other expenses, including the fee tag officer’s fee; But those who have practical problems have to pay 25 rupees more for each letter. Apart from this, for the evaluation of the practical answer sheets, 25 rupees per sheet have been deducted for the internal and external examiners.
Apart from this, a regular student has to pay Rs. 100 per letter, Rs. 25 for each practical letter, Rs. 50 for transcript fee, Rs. 100 for certificate, Rs. 15 for rover scout fee / girl guide and Rs.5 for the national education week rate. . In fact, many universities in the capital have paid more than the fees charged by the board. Currently, the examinees and their parents want their money back. Many parents said that since the HSC and equivalent exams have been canceled, the fees charged need to be refunded. Many will benefit if it is returned. Many are in dire financial straits, especially because of Corona.
Regarding reimbursement of fees charged to examinees, Professor Muhammad Ziaul Haque, Chairman of the Inter-Educational Coordination Board and Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education, told Naya Digant that there is a specific sector of spending money that we take from students as fees. The test is now canceled; But our costs started a long time ago. Therefore, there is no possibility to refund the fee for completing the exam form. “We were preparing for the test last April,” he added. So most of our money was spent at that time.
