Police arrested Jamirul, the main defendant in a case brought by his mother in connection with the death of Islamic University (IU) student Ulfat Ara Tinni. The investigating officer on the case, Inspector (Investigation) Mohsin Hossain, confirmed the matter. He said Jamirul was arrested in the early hours of the morning at the Vaina junction in the city of Magura.

Ex-husband of Jamirul Tinni’s sister. The family alleges that last Thursday Jamirul and his accomplices forced their way into the house, destroyed it, entered Tinni’s bedroom, tortured and abused her. Then Tinni chose the path of suicide.

On Friday, Tinni’s mother, Halima Begum, filed a case against Jamirul under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. Previously, the police arrested four more people accused of being involved in the incident.

Shailkupa Circle Additional Police Superintendent Ariful Islam said the main defendant in the case brought against him for torturing Tinni and then recovering a body hanging from his room has been arrested. I was changing places little by little. Magura was on her feet to go somewhere through Vaina’s turn. At that point, a Shailkupa police team was able to arrest him.

Meanwhile, Tinni’s autopsy report showed no signs of rape or torture, the doctor said. The report called it a suicide by hanging. However, relatives said they could not believe the report.

The deceased was identified as Tinni Sheikhpara, daughter of the late freedom fighter Yusuf Ali and student of the Department of Accounting and Information Technology of the Islamic University, 2012-13.
