Members of the Facebook Messenger group called ‘Group 007’ formed by Nayan Bond in Barguna are now in hiding. They have not been seen in public since the murder of Rifat Sharif. Where are you now? That is the question of the Barguna people. Especially after the verdict was announced in the Rifat murder case on Wednesday, this question is on everyone’s lips.
However, the protagonists (Godfathers) of this group are out of reach, but the locals complain that they are out of reach. According to them, drug trafficking and terrorism in the city and district of Barguna will be reduced if the (Godfathers) who get involved in drug trafficking by making Nayan Bond submit to the law.
It is known that after Rifat’s assassination on June 26, 2019, the names of Nayan Bond and her group 007 came up for discussion across the country. Nayan died in a shootout with the police on July 2 of the same year. According to the charge sheet produced by the police in the Rifat murder case, there were 108 members in the messaging group called 008 formed by Nayan Bond. But 23 people were charged with the murder of Rifat Sharif. 14 of them are teenagers. These are young people who go to school.
The second head of the force was Rifat Faraji, Nayan’s main accomplice and the second defendant in the Rifat murder case (sentenced to death). Rifat Faraji’s younger brother, Rishan Faraji, used to coordinate teenagers. Rishan Faraji is also the number one minor defendant in the Rifat murder case. The police have no information on the rest of the force.
According to various sources in the city of Barguna, after Nayan’s death, the youth gang culture in Barguna has stagnated, but the adolescents and youth of Force 006 are still active behind the scenes. After Nayan’s death, the members of this force formed another group of messengers called Team-71. When the information was known, they dissolved the group.
According to the same source, there are now three gangs in the city. Among them, members of the amazing force are still active in various misdeeds in the Amtalapar, DKP Road, College Road, College Campus, Government Girls School Road areas of the city. The group is still active in and out of the city and, like the Nayan Rifat Gang, is involved in petty crime, including drugs.
Additionally, a district Chhatra League leader led a group of teens at PTI, Zilla School, Kharakanda, in the Shaheed Smriti Road area of the city. The locals have confirmed that some members of the group were involved in yabaseban and sales. However, the group’s leader is running the yaba business using out-of-reach teens. The group is mainly involved in various crimes related to the district schools and Kharakanda. Although the BCL leader led this group, no one dares to say her name publicly.
In addition, a former Chhatra Dal cadre leads another group in Charkaloni, the Vocational Institute and the Women’s College of the city. However, he is now blessed with one of the district’s top Chhatra League leaders. No one is willing to say who that leader is. One of the members of this group was a candidate for a secondary exam at the Barguna Vocational Institute.
On the last day of Eid, pigeons clashed with locals while visiting the Gulbunia area on the river bank. At one point, the gang informed the group, beat up locals and beat a teenager named Hridoy to death. Several sources in the surroundings, including Charkaloni and the stadium, confirmed that the members of the group had created a kind of panic in the area with weapons and drugs.
Maruf Mridha, Deputy General Secretary of the Barguna Upazila Awami League, told Jugantar that the 007 bond group was formed through drug trafficking. The godfather was behind it.
When asked who this godfather was, he said, “I am the leader of the ruling party.” It is not possible for me to say everything with certainty.
He also said that the Godfather cannot belong to any party other than the government party. However, following Rifat’s assassination and the announcement of the landmark verdict on Wednesday, rising terrorists have covered their bodies.
The organizing secretary of the Barguna District Awami League, Golam Sarwar Tuku, told Jugantar that there must have been a godfather behind the creation of Nayan Bond. They are out of reach. Drug terrorism will not diminish unless the Godfather is eliminated.
Commenting on the family system in Barguna, he said that an influential ruling leader has been placing importance on the family across the board. If those who have done business in drugs through eye ties are brought under the law, drug trafficking and terrorism will be reduced in the city and district of Barguna.
Barguna District BCL President Jubayer Adnan told Jugantar that the godfather was behind Rifat Sharif’s murder. If there is no godfather, then why was Musa Bond not captured?
He said that Nayan Bond was a drug dealer. Rifat Sharif was once hanged with drugs. I also had a conference with Avi and Musa on this topic. I have repeatedly said that godparents must be captured before drugs can be eradicated. It does not mean for sure who the Godfather is.
However, he said, the police can find out who the godfather is if they want to.
The officer in charge of the Barguna Sadar police station, KM Tariqul Islam, told Jugantar: “I just joined Barguna.” I heard about members of the Nayan Bond terrorist group. We have identified the godparents behind the creation of Nayan Bond. I don’t want to say the name right now. I’m sick. If he recovers a little, I’ll arrest the godparents. However, I think that after Rifat’s murder, there are no more teenage terrorist groups in the city.
