The prime minister gave the directive at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (September 29), Planning Minister MA Mannan told reporters. The planning minister said this in a briefing after the ECNEC meeting.
Planning Minister MA Mannan said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered factories to be established in the industrial area at the ECNEC meeting. She also recommended not to install any factories on farmland and houses.
The Planning Minister said that the Prime Minister told the businessmen at the ECNEC meeting: “If you want to do business or do industry, go to the industrial area. Why set up an industry destroying the rice fields next to the house? We encourage you to come to the industrial area and mounts factories. There you will find other facilities. You will have gasoline, roads, banks. ‘
During the meeting, the Prime Minister further said: “The Ministry of Navigation and the Ministry of Water Resources will work together to remove waste from waterways. Agricultural land must be protected. Where there is no industry, it can be set up. We have to establish industries in economic zones where there are all kinds of facilities, including gas, water, electricity and roads. In addition, the Prime Minister also ordered the evacuation of the river bank. The banks of the river must be freed from illegal occupation. On the other hand, river dredging must be done by releasing water hyacinths.
