The Vietnamese police have captured an elegant ring of fraud. Used condoms were washed, dried, and resealed in packages. Vietnamese police have recovered some 345,000 used condoms from a factory. The 34-year-old factory owner was also arrested in the incident. Vietnam’s state television channel, VTV, was quoted by the BBC.
According to the police, after questioning the detained woman, it was learned that the used condoms were collected, first washed with hot water, then dried thoroughly and filled with new essentials in new packages. Then I would go to the store for sale.
The used condom business has been booming in some parts of Vietnam for a long time. Police raided a warehouse in southern Vietnam’s Binh Duong province on Wednesday after receiving information about the fraudulent source. After washing and packing many used condoms and condoms in that warehouse, many sealed packages were found. The amount of condoms confiscated was 360 kg, which was kept in a large bag in the room.
The detainee said she used to receive zero point 18 dollars a kilo for repacking condoms, which is about 14 rupees.
Police are investigating whether the condoms have any international ties to the counterfeiting ring and whether the business was conducted only within Vietnam, or whether the condoms were shipped to other countries.
