On Sunday, the first business day of the week, the country’s stock market rose sharply. The volume of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has increased with all price indices. Yesterday the transaction in the DSE exceeded Rs 1.3 billion. And the market capitalization of 6,661 crore 16 lakh 63,000 taka has returned to the stock market.
Investor confidence and the long-lived stock market have been trending upward for more than two months. DSE’s main price index touched 5,000 points after more than a year last Thursday due to one rise after another in the index.
Market analysis showed that after DSE’s main price index hit the 5,000 point milestone, there was a hint of a large rise in the stock market at the start of the trading session on Sunday. One by one, the shares and unit prices of the companies participating in the transaction continue to rise. That continues until the end of the transaction. As a result, the DSEX, the main price index of the main DSE stock exchange, has risen 62 points to 5,094 points from the previous day. Among the other two indices, DSE-30 rose 16 points to 1,657 points. The DSE Shariah index has risen 12 points to 1,160 points.
At the end of the trading day, 228 companies participating in the DSE have written their names on the list of unit and share price increases. On the other hand, the prices of 108 have been reduced and the prices of 25 have remained unchanged.
1,329 crore 72 lakh rupees have been traded on the market during the day. On the previous business day, the transaction was for 1,24 crore 54 lakh rupees. As a result, the transaction has increased by 305 crore 16 lakh compared to the previous day.
Beximco Pharma has the highest number of transactions in the DSE in terms of money. 57.98 million shares of the company have been traded. Beximco, which is in second place, has a turnover of Tk 40.3 crore. IFIC Bank ranks third with a transaction of Tk 32.06 crore.
Additionally, BRAC Bank, Orion Pharma, Orion Infusion, Citibank, United Power Generation, Delta BRAC Housing, and Express Insurance are among the top 10 companies in the transaction.
On the other hand, the general CASPI price index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange has increased by 239 points. The market turnover was Tk 46.96 million rupees. Of the 28 companies that participated in the transaction, 17 registered price increases. On the other hand, the prices of 75 have dropped and the prices of 25 have remained unchanged.
