New Delhi Maruti Suzuki was unable to sell a single car last April. This is the case of Benazir in the Indian auto industry. The automaker, which has dominated 50 percent of the country’s market like India, was unable to sell a single car in April due to the shutdown. In a press release, Maruti Suzuki said that it could not sell a single car in April.
Although no official announcement has been made, Hyundai, Honda, Tata Motors and Mahindra have probably been in the same situation.
During normal hours, Maruti Suzuki sells at least 1.5 lakh of cars on the Indian market every month. In recent months, due to the financial crisis, the company has risen and fallen in car sales. But not a single car will be sold in a month, it was unimaginable. Like Maruti, Maurice Garage also said that not a single car was sold last April.
It is worth mentioning that the central government has given this company permission to start working in its car manufacturing factories in Gurugram and Manesar. However, the automaker has not yet started working there. And one of the reasons why the work has not started is that the ‘supply chain’ industry has come to a standstill. There are about two hundred and fifty small companies in the country, which manufacture many automotive equipment, tools. If there is no market demand, it will be difficult for those companies to survive. In this situation, the car sales market in the country will remain at the bottom for the next six to seven months.
