In giving instructions for installing high-powered CCTV cameras on overpasses, the DMP commissioner said the technology could be used to prevent car and motorcycle theft. Software such as the Crime Data Management System (CDMS) and Suspect Identification and Verification System (SIVS) must be updated and a list of thieves / robbers must be prepared and brought into law.

He said that with the car and motorcycle tracking system, thefts will be greatly reduced. Do scientific research using technology, don’t act like a hobbyist to make your personal responsibilities disappear.

Mentioning the need to raise awareness against violence and rape against women, the commissioner said that awareness rallies could be held in the presence of senior officers and local dignitaries in each part of the police station. In these meetings, women should be aware of their problems and take into account their recommendations on what to do about them.

Referring to drugs as a control for crimes such as violence against women and robberies, she said the problem cannot be solved by recovering large amounts of drugs alone. If we can identify drug addicts and get them out of drug addiction, the number of drug addicts will decrease and the number of drugs will also decrease.

Expressing satisfaction with the follow-up of GD and cases, the commissioner said that in the case of GD and cases at the police station, service applicants were called from DMP headquarters to learn about the quality of the police service. More than 95 percent of people have expressed satisfaction. That is good. We need to ensure better service by maintaining it.

BIT officers were instructed to identify the youth gang perpetrators and monitor their location, movements, taunting sites, and drug use. Failure to do so will lead to action against the BIT officials in question.

The DMP commissioner said battery-powered rickshaws will not be allowed on the roads of Dhaka city with instructions to take strict measures against extortionists.

At the monthly crime review meeting in September, the Gulshan division has been selected as the best crime division, the Detective Lalbagh division has been selected as the best intelligence division and the Traffic Lalbagh division has been selected as the best division in traffic.

The DMP commissioner also awarded six people of different ranks in recognition of good work and the maintenance of law and order in the metropolis of Dhaka.
