30-Day Curriculum Begins Nov 1, Instructions Issued

Ministry of EducationImplementation of the 30-day short syllabus for the high school class will begin on November 1. Students must pick up and send homework for this day. Transferred students in Covid-19 situation will be able to collect and send assignments from the nearest educational institution in the area where they are located. The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) will report homework content in due course.

All educational institutions across the country have been closed since March 16 to prevent Kovid-19 infection and ensure the safety of students.
According to the directive, direct class activities are closed in educational institutions to prevent infection by Kovid-19. However, during the closure of the educational institution, teaching is carried out through the program ‘My house in my house’, which is broadcast on Parliament television, and online classroom teaching and other activities are carried out carried out at the school level under the direction of the institution itself.
Teachers have also continued to teach via mobile phones. Arrangements are being made to assess student learning outcomes through various activities. This evaluation should not put any physical or mental pressure on them.
Eight guidelines are given considering the general aspects so that the teachers and students themselves can get an idea about the progress and weaknesses of their lessons. These are:
1) NCTB prescribed 30 business day curriculum for secondary level must be followed (www.dshe.gov.bd will be posted on website in due course).
2) NCTB has determined the content of the task (assigned work) from the prescribed syllabus with the help of subject matter experts. Assignments prepared according to content (assigned work) will be sent to the principals of all secondary level educational institutions through field officers each week.
3) In case of give / take assignment, the organization will determine the main program based on the class and arrange for separate give / take. In this case, with the help of online / maintaining social distance, the director of the institution / tutor will send and receive the assignment under his own direction.
4) The educational institution cannot carry out any other activity related to the assessment (such as taking exams, submitting assignments, etc.) in addition to the assignment.
5) Teachers will identify student weaknesses through homework assessment and take appropriate measures to achieve desired learning outcomes paying special attention to them in the upcoming academic year. The principals of the institutions will make arrangements to keep the assignments, including the evaluation of the teachers.
6) Students transferred due to the Covid-19 situation will be able to collect / send assignments from the nearest educational institution. In that case, the parent / student will make the necessary arrangements by contacting the principal of the nearest educational institution.
6) This activity will begin from November 1.
6) All Regional Assistant Principals, District Education Officers, Upazila / Thana Secondary Education Officers will coordinate the implementation of this directive.
