You won’t update your iPhone if you use Google Maps on a daily basis

If you use Google Maps, and as it regularly turns on any other navigation app on your iPhone, you should not install the most recent major operating system update.

And that’s all because navigation apps in general, and Google Maps in particular, seem to be affected by the error of breaking the Bluetooth connection, and whatever voice this navigation assumes won’t work anymore.

Earlier this week, we reported broken Google Maps and broken navigation on some iPhones, with users complaining on Google’s official Google platform that notifications provided by the app are always clipped. Whenever the iPhone is used for navigation with a Bluetooth connection in the car’s speakers, the first word is always missing.

And while at first glance it was thought that the culprit was Google Maps, now it seems that the culprit is an update to iOS 14, which leads to more issues with navigation apps on updated iPhones.

Google’s forums (here, here, and here) have plenty of complaints pointing to broken Bluetooth navigation, and some users have discovered that the whole thing happens in Apple Maps as well. This seems to indicate that there is an error at the level of a operating system and that it is not required by a particular application.

I just installed and tested Apple Pal Map and it has exactly the same problem! I guess that means there’s a problem like the iPhone that happens in both of our cars,”Says someone on the stage.

Others had more problems after updating their iPhone to iOS 14. For example, whenever the Google Maps window is in focus and navigation guidance is provided, no sound actually passes.

At this point, the workout doesn’t seem to exist, as simply reinstalling the app and resetting Bluetooth doesn’t matter. Neither Google nor Apple Paul acknowledged these issues.
